Safety Advice

Helpful guidance for guests when enquiring about privately owned static caravans.

Before booking

We encourage all visitors to check listing details carefully before agreeing to book or sending payment. Static caravan adverts are submitted by individual owners, so it is important to confirm the details directly.

Check the listing carefully

  • Check the caravan location, holiday park name and dates.
  • Look for clear photos of the caravan interior and exterior.
  • Ask the owner to confirm what is included in the price.
  • Check whether entertainment passes, pets, bedding, parking or cleaning fees are included.
  • Confirm check-in and check-out arrangements before travelling.

Be cautious with payments

  • Be cautious if a price seems unusually low.
  • Be wary of pressure to pay quickly.
  • Avoid unusual payment methods or requests that feel suspicious.
  • Keep written records of your conversations and payment details.
  • Consider using a payment method that offers buyer protection where possible.

Warning signs

  • The owner refuses to answer basic questions.
  • The owner gives inconsistent details about the caravan or park.
  • You are asked to pay to an unrelated name or account.
  • The advert uses poor-quality or suspicious images.
  • You are asked to move quickly because “many people are interested”.

Report suspicious adverts

If a listing looks suspicious, inaccurate or inappropriate, use the “Report this listing” link on the caravan page. Reports are reviewed by the site administrator.
